LPA Certificate Issuer Online Training Module (ver.2019) (OPG02)

When a person is making a Lasting Power of Attorney ("LPA"), he has to obtain a certificate from an LPA certificate issuer. One of the categories of persons who can issue LPA certificates is a legally qualified medical practitioner accredited by the Public Guardian.

As a pre-requisite to being accredited by the Public Guardian, the medical practitioner has to undergo a familiarisation course on their role and administrative requirements for issuing a LPA certificate. An online assessment test will evaluate the medical practitioner's understanding of the certificate issuer role.

For more information on the LPA, please visit the OPG website: www.msf.gov.sg/opg.

The course is part of the application process for medical practitioners who wish to be accredited by the Public Guardian to be LPA certificate issuers.

Once you have passed the quiz, the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) will be notified with your details as indicated in the registration. Please ensure that your name and place of practice are updated as they will be added into the OPG list of accredited doctors on their website. You will be receiving an email and decal from OPG.
